Dance Experience: I have been involved with formal dance training since the age of three at various points in my life to include, but not limited to, therapeutic movement and dance professional development. If you asked my family, they would say my informal training began before I was even born, and I have and will continue each day. I find an ability to not only express myself through movement and dance, but opportunities to gain self-awareness and self-appreciation. I often utilize movement and dance as a therapeutic intervention as another option to truly be present in the moment and support openness to embrace the moment in a nonjudgmental way. As I strive to offer all my clients an opportunity for true acceptance in a radical way (Linehan, 1993).
I believe in providing my clients and supervisees with evidence-based best practices to support their well-being and their personal experience concerning awareness and growth towards empowerment. Most of my years of experience include working with service members and their families, to include but not limited to their spouse and children. Additionally, I have worked within school settings (primary, secondary, and higher ed.), home-based settings, as a licensed contractor, in private practice, and within a psychiatric assessment unit.
